Instructional Mini-Grants

The Tennessee Council for Exceptional Children’s Instructional Mini Grant was established to support efforts of direct services to exceptional children. Such awards could include but are not limited to: individual/classroom teaching practices, education programs, enrichment programs, recreation/leisure programs, parent training programs or career education programs. Grants up to $1,000 are awarded to TNCEC members.

Description

The Tennessee Council for Exceptional Children’s Instructional Mini Grant was established to support efforts of direct services to exceptional children. Such awards could include but are not limited to: individual/classroom teaching practices, education programs, enrichment programs, recreation/leisure programs, parent training programs or career education programs. Grants up to $1,000 are awarded to TNCEC members.

 

Eligibility
  • Any teacher, school psychologist, support staff, related service personnel, teacher trainer, who is a member in good standing in the TNCEC.
  • The children being served must meet eligibility criteria for special education services as outlined by the TN Department of Education (ages 3-21).
  • The program shall be provided by a public school or agency that serves children eligible for IDEA services in Tennessee.

 

How to Submit a Proposal
  1. The applicant must complete the application pages and upload through the online application process at: https://forms.gle/PtJwyFv8ew3XUnde7
  2. The selection committee shall include a committee chairperson appointed by the president, three TNCEC members representing different geographic areas, and two professionals not affiliated with TNCEC. The committee chair will select committee members, and will remain a non-voting member of the committee, except when to break a tie on an application review score. Committee members will evaluate applications through a blind review process.
  3. The Mini-Grant Award(s) will be announced after being chosen at the beginning of the fiscal year, during a TNCEC executive board meeting. The winner(s) will be contacted directed at their schools, and posted on the TNCEC website, social media, and all other applicable outlets.
